2008 Nissan Rogue SL Review

The 2008 Nissan Rogue SL is one of the best cars in its class. The light Sport Utility Vehicle has been a hit with consumers ever since the little scamp’s advertising campaign hit the airwaves on the hit show “Heroes.” If the 2008 Nissan Rogue SL was good enough for the cheerleader, it’s good enough for you.

The Rogue is one of the small segment of crossover SUVs that are car based. This is a relatively new area of the market, and is something of a transitional vehicle between the small cars of youth and the mature SUVs or minivans of family life.

In terms of styling, the 2008 Nissan Rogue SL brings to mind the Nissan Murano. The Murano has developed quite a dedicated following, and it is expected that the Rogue will do the same. Featuring a Bose stereo, six CD changer, leather upholstery, six-way driver’s seat, and split-fold 60/40 second row seating are just a few of the amenities the Rogue provides. The 2008 Nissan Rogue SL does just fine when it come sto gas mileage, getting 21 miles to the gallon in the city and 26 miles to the gallon on the highway.

If you’re looking for a small Sport Utility Vehicle, consider the 2008 Nissan Rogue SL. It has what you’re looking for in a vehicle.

Nissan’s 4-Door Sports Car

With the release of the 2009 Nissan Maxima, Nissan is banking on the car’s billing at a possible 4-Door Sports Car.

Maxima had some stickers placed on the rear windows of older models of the Maxima that read “4DSC,” standing for 4-Door Sports Car of course. Those past models of the Nissan Maxima maybe weren’t quite up to par of what a sports car was expected to be, but the idea was nice and it provided a sense of style and substance for owners of the incarnation.

Fast forward to today and witness the 2009 Nissan Maxima. Perhaps those stickers wouldn’t be so out of place now, as Nissan’s car boasts a sporty look and a speed-power quotient that owns the road. By selling the vehicle as the 4-Door Sports Car, Nissan is banking on knocking down a demographic that has long been longing for a vehicle that best suits their lifestyle.

The 2009 Nissan Maxima is that vehicle, a powerful and sporty four-door vehicle that is both comfortable and exciting, stylish and durable. It is the ultimate car for the family or the ultimate car for a night on the town.

Nissan Launches 0% Financing on Five Models

Nissan is gearing up to try to boost its disappointing U.S. sales by offering a special 0% financing plan on five models.

The plan is also designed to tell American consumers that credit is still available. Nissan has been marketing this notion heavily as of late, informing consumers that credit is available with its dealers and trying to take away the fear that many citizens have of locking into some sort of credit arrangement that they will not be able to pay for.

Nissan’s North American unit will offer the 36-month financing program on its Rogue and Murano crossovers, its Altima and Sentra sedans and its Versa hatchback from November 4 to January 5 2009.

The plan marks the first time that the car company has had such a comprehensive package on so many vehicles over such a long period of time. It really is a remarkably opportunity for consumers to get behind the wheel of a Nissan vehicle.

“It was not about offering zero-percent on our least-popular models,” Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager of Nissan North America’s Nissan division, said. “It was about having a real deal on the most popular vehicles that we sell, and if you’re serious about this … then you bring it on your best-moving product.”

Nissan’s 2009 370Z Coupe

Nissan is banking some serious publicity and hope on its brand spankin’ new 2009 370Z Coupe. In fact, promotions got under way with Nissan “debuting” the vehicle in the Need for Speed video game franchise. The car has been put up on the video game screen before it has been put up in the showrooms, showing just who the target audience is for this speedster and just how Nissan is set to go about marketing the car.

Set to make its world debut at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the all-new 370Z is the inevitable evolution of the 350Z, which was introduced in 2003. The new car is slated to go on sale in 2009 as a 2009 model and should turn plenty of heads with its sleek design and impeccable operation.

Under the hood, Nissan has installed its 3.7-litre VQ engine (found in the Infiniti G37), which produces 330 horsepower and 270 lb. ft of torque. Sound powerful enough for you?

And the interior has received an upgrade too, with a brand new slick design taken from some of the parts of the GT-R and a host of other supercars. Nissan’s goal here is to create the ultimate sleek, sexy ride. Early reports suggest that Nissan’s done that again and the 2009 370Z Coupe will knock ‘em dead.

Nissan’s Global Vehicle Output Up 9.6%

Nissan’s global vehicle output has risen 9.6% in the April to September period, representing an increase from the same period of last year. Overseas production rose 2% to 1,117,187 units, while domestic output increased 25.8% to 649,798 units.

Nissan’s boosting of domestic output is notable, as it demonstrates where the bulk of the production is occuring and may offer some clues as to the company’s success. By focusing on more domestic production and realizing the risks with international production in the economic downturn, Nissan proves that they are able to shift their focus and maintain quality production standards in a difficult time.

Nissan also said domestic vehicle sales declined 4.3% to 317,808 units. But exports surged 45.4% to 400,457 units. The link here is interesting, as Nissan’s global exporting is doing rather well. By making products domestically, the company is able to gain in the export market AND save by using home products and services to create new vehicles. It’s a win-win situation for Nissan, even with the economic downturn, and it proves that a resourceful car company can still gain ground in today’s tricky markets.

How the rest of the year will play out for Nissan remains to be seen, of course, but the car company does appear to be confident in its abilities. For more information on Nissan cars and other products, keep it locked right here.

The History of Nissan

For those who have been reading about Nissan cars at this blog, you may be interested in a little bit of Nissan history.

Japan’s Nissan Motors formerly marketed vehicles under the Datsun name and has grown into one of the largest car companies in the world. Founded in 1934, the company’s main offices are located in the Ginza area of Chūō, Tokyo. Nissan sprang out of Datsun, which was called DAT when it was founded in 1914. DAT was first called the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works and was established in Tokyo. Several name changes and company changes later, Nissan was finally born.

The Nissan company profited from early visits to Detroit from its founders, allowing the company to accurately determine what was happening overseas and tailor their market towards the growing car business. This is a process that Nissan has followed to this day, producing thousands upon thousands of Nissan cars with the global market always in mind.

Nissan’s success came largely because of foreign expansion, as the car company was able to grow into other parts of the world and adapt its models to the changing demands of the consumer. Today, Nissan continues to grow and is on the cutting edge of brand new technology. With fuel economy and environmental issues a top concern, you can trust Nissan cars for your next vehicle of choice.

Wider Girth Gives Maxima Improved Handling

The Nissan Maxima for 2009 has yet another thing going for it that many other cars might not be proud of. Indeed, the wider girth of the Maxima allows for better handling than its predecessors and many of its competitors.

Sure, an increase in width isn’t going to be a reason to celebrate for us humans. But for the 2009 Maxima, an increase in girth around the midsection is just the ticket to improve the safe-handling capabilities of the car. It adds smoothness to the turning and improves the way the car moves. Add to that the fact that the Maxima is shorter in car length and wheelbase and you’ve got a short, stout car that can really handle the curves. No question about it.

Perhaps amazingly, the reduction in length and the addition in girth has resulted in an overall weight reduction in the 2009 Maxima. Indeed the car is slicker and lighter, offering better movement and control to the driver. Add to that an increase in cabin room and you’ve got a car that offers more elbow room than ever before with a lot of control and easy-driving goodness to boot.

The Nissan-Chrysler Partnership

A few years back, Nissan and partner Renault thought about putting some money behind the idea of a partnership between them and General Motors. The investors hated the idea, of course, and nothing ever came out of it but talk. Now, a few years later, Nissan and Renault are taking a look at another potential partnersip and the analysts aren’t big fans.

I’m talking, of course, about the Nissan and Chrysler partnership. Or at least the idea of it.

Chrysler is held to the tune of 80% by Cerberus Capital Management. The company is in the midst of discussing a deal to be acquired by GM, as carmakers struggle to cope with the worst industry downturn in more than a decade. Car companies are scrambling at this point, with many looking to some of the industry giants for a little assistance. Chrysler is hoping to plug into the bloodstream of General Motors.

As a safeguard, Cerberus Capital Management talked to other companies about potential mergers and handouts, with one of those companies being Nissan. Nissan has since refused to pay cash for Chrysler, which may provide a big of a monkey wrench to the plans of Cerberus.

Nevertheless, it says something about Nissan’s standing in the world of automakers that a company like Chrysler would come to them for help. For more information about this situation or any Nissan cars, drop by the Nissan website or your local dealership today.

Nissan Gives Back To Its Fans

Nissan has increasingly been doing things, as a company, to let its customers and enthusiasts know that it appreciates them. A great example of this effort by Nissan to reach out is the Shift Into Gear Experience, held at the Nissan headquarters in Mississauga.

The Shift Into Gear Experience is a program that Nissan held in Canada in September of this year. At this event, Maxima owners and enthusiasts were allowed not only to take a look at the new 2009 Nissan Maxima, they were allowed to book test drives online and drive the new version of Nissan’s flagship sedan.

In addition to test driving the Maxima, the 2009 GT-R, 2009 Titan SE, the 2009 Murano, The 2009 Versa, the 2008 350z Roadster, as well as the Altima sedan and coupe were all present at the event.

The test drive for the Maxima took around 20 minutes, although some participants asked for some extra time.

Participants raved about the new Maxima. The refined platform, redesigned interior, new styling, more powerful engine, and even the heated steering wheel all stood out as favorite features of the new model year Maxima.

Nissan Offers More Buyout Consideration

Nissan is giving workers an extra chance to consider their buyout options. Workers at the two Tennessee plants who were offered buyouts have been given another month to reconsider their decisions.

Nissan’s North America spokesman Steve Parrett said that workers at the plants in Smyrna and Decherd have until the middle of November to withdraw from the company’s buyout program because they may want additional time to reconsider in light of the economic slowdown. It is a classy move from a generally classy company, as they realize the impact that these times can have on average families. The buyout may no longer look so lucrative or enticing under the current conditions.

Nissan announced the buyouts back in July with the goal of cutting around 1,200 employees. Workers with fewer than 15 years on the job were offered lump sum payments of $100,000, while those who have worked longer would get $125,000 in lump sum payments.

Nissan has still not disclosed the amount of workers who have accepted the buyouts, but it is expected that there was a significant number of workers to do so. By offering more time for consideration, Nissan proves their mettle as a compassionate, caring company.
