The History of Nissan

October 24, 2008 | | Comments 0

For those who have been reading about Nissan cars at this blog, you may be interested in a little bit of Nissan history.

Japan’s Nissan Motors formerly marketed vehicles under the Datsun name and has grown into one of the largest car companies in the world. Founded in 1934, the company’s main offices are located in the Ginza area of Chūō, Tokyo. Nissan sprang out of Datsun, which was called DAT when it was founded in 1914. DAT was first called the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works and was established in Tokyo. Several name changes and company changes later, Nissan was finally born.

The Nissan company profited from early visits to Detroit from its founders, allowing the company to accurately determine what was happening overseas and tailor their market towards the growing car business. This is a process that Nissan has followed to this day, producing thousands upon thousands of Nissan cars with the global market always in mind.

Nissan’s success came largely because of foreign expansion, as the car company was able to grow into other parts of the world and adapt its models to the changing demands of the consumer. Today, Nissan continues to grow and is on the cutting edge of brand new technology. With fuel economy and environmental issues a top concern, you can trust Nissan cars for your next vehicle of choice.
