Nissan Selected for CDLI

October 17, 2008 | | Comments 0

Nissan has been selected for the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index for the second consecutive year, joining Renault as one of the only two automakers on the list.

The CDLI recognizes companies that demonstrate open-book style strategies in terms of reporting and disclosing carbon information in terms of climate change. Nissan’s mid-term environmental and business plans were met with much fanfare, as the company proved its continued dedication to helping the environment and leading the charge against climate change.

One such intitiative is Nissan’s Green Program 2010 environmental plan. The plan contains three core objectives: reducing CO2 emissions, minimizing emissions to preserve the atmosphere, water, and soil, and recycling resources.

On the business end of things, Nissan’s mid-term business plan is also being met with applause. The NISSAN GT 2012 plan defines zero-emissions vehicles as one of the companies three top commitments. Nissan also plans to release an all-electric vehicle in Japan in 2010 and aims to offer EVs to the mass production field by 2012 on a global level.

Nissan’s continued commitment to environmental wellbeing accents its business plan, making it one of the smarter and more ethical car companies working today. For more information regarding how Nissan cars can impact the environment and how they can save you money, drop by your local dealer today.
