For the full-size truck category, this model ranks at the top of its class when it comes to nimble steering and capable towing. It features a towing capacity of up to 9,500 pounds, customizable storage options and a spacious cabin.

The Nissan Titan SL Crew Cab comes with your choice of a short (5 foot 7) or long (7 foot 3) bed to fit your hauling needs and you can also choose between two or four-wheel drive. The SL also comes with upgraded features including:

fog lamps

rear parking sensors

bucket seats

leather interior

steering wheel with audio controls

Bluetooth

class IV hitch

20-inch alloy wheels

dual zone climate control

driver memory functions

12-volt tailgate power source

Rockford Fosgate audio system

It is easy to see that this model does not compromise on luxuries for the sake of being a work vehicle. There are also additional packages which further enhance the utility and comfort of the Nissan Titan SL. The crew cab specifically comes with a technology package option that includes a navigation system, sunroof and rear seat entertainment. The Pro-4x trim can also be added to give the Titan skid-plates, dampers, all-terrain tires and electronic locking rear differential.

For the 2012 Nissan Titan there can only be one engine – the 5.6 liter V8. With 317 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 385 pounds of torque, this truck won’t give you any problems when it’s time to tow. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the FWD is 12 mpg city and 17 mpg highway.

Safety features include an advanced air bag system, traction control system, front-seat active head restraints, LATCH system, front and rear crumple zones, energy-absorbing steering column and tire pressure monitoring system. It earned the highest possible rating for frontal-offset crash testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

True to previous models, the 2012 Titan SL Crew Cab has a spacious interior with plenty of storage. The dials are easy to view while all controls are readily accessible and simple to operate. The rear seats fold up and the front passenger seat folds forward to provide maximum space for hauling and a flat surface to serve as a work bench. Other work-truck, optional features include tailgate illumination, spray on bed liner, tie-down cleats and a lockbox.

There are so many features and customizable options, it’s impossible for this truck to not meet your standards for both work and play. The 2012 Nissan Titan SL Crew Cab is backed by a 36-month, 36,000-mile limited vehicle coverage and a limited powertrain coverage of 5-years or 60,000 miles. Stop by for a test drive today.

The 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE V6 is an SUV worth spending money on – even with today’s rising gas prices. For starters, the 4X2 drivetrain gets 15 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. The 4X4 trim isn’t quite as impressive, but it’s not too shabby at 14mpg and 20 mpg, respectively. Those aren’t bad numbers for the class. And with an MSRP of $38,120, it’s still affordable for most families.

The engine is a 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 with a horsepower capacity of 266 at 5,600 rpm and a torque output of 288 pound-feet at 4,000 rpm. She also operates on continuously variable valve time control for the intake and the Nissan Direct Ignition System.

The drivetrain consists of a 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. All mode 4-wheel drive with 2-speed transfer case is available on the 4X4 as an option. The 4X2 comes with 2-wheel ABLS and the 4X4 with 4-wheel ABLS.

Safety and security were both at the forefront of manufacturer concerns. The Pathfinder LE V6 is equipped with the Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System and state-of-the-art airbag and seatbelt systems.

Interior features include:

Information center with 7-inch color display

RearView monitor

Bluetooth hands-free phone system

Rear air conditioning with rear controls

Digital compass

And a ton more as well

Exterior features include:

Front tow hook on the 4X4

Skid plate on the lower radiator

Running boards

Rear black privacy glass

And, again, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are a ton more exterior features to be proud of as well.

The 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE V6 is a vehicle the whole family will love. It’s an SUV for the 21st century.

The Pathfinder is a 4-door SUV with a four-wheel-drive drivetrain. The transmission is a 5-speed automatic. It seats 7 passengers comfortably.

Splash guards

Running boards

Auto on/off headlights

Rear privacy glass

Flip-up liftgate window

It sports a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower and 171 square pound per feet of torque. Compared to other vehicles of a similar class, that’s not bad. Other features stack up 1-for-1 with the rest of the King Cab family.

Emissions control

Variable intake system

CVTCS on intake

Nissan-trademarked Direct Ignition System

Platinum-tipped spark plugs

Electronic drive-by-wire throttle

All of these features are standard across the board with every trim level.

The 2010 Nissan Frontier XE trim features a 5-speed manual transmission, but the 5-speed automatic is available as an option.

While higher trim models feature the 2- or 4-wheel Active Brake Limited Slip, the XE does come with the 4-wheel ABS and and Electronic Brake Force Distribution. The suspension is independent double-wishbone on the front with a stabilizer bar and on the rear, overslung multi-leaf with solid axle.

The 2010 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab’s all season tires are 15″ X 7″ 6-spoke steel wheels and you do get a full-size spare, not the doughnut.

The seating is both comfortable and convenient for passengers as well as storage. The front passenger seat folds flat and the two rear seats flip up to make room for carrying luggage or other cargo.

For safety, the 2010 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab has all the same features as the entire King Cab family except for one. Safety-conscious drivers will appreciate that.

While the 4X4 King Cab is not an option with the XE trim, the 4X2 does get decent gas mileage. With manual transmission you’ll see 19 in the city and 23 on the highway. The automatic transmission XE gets 17 and 22, respectively.

If you’re looking for a basic get around pickup without a lot of bells and whistles as a fair price then the 2010 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab is a good choice. It’s practical, affordable and not bad to look at.

One of the best midsize SUVs you can find on the market today is the 2008 Pathfinder, from Nissan. The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder is suitable for just about any purpose.

The sturdy and heavy platform features a body-on-frame configuration that Nissan derived from its full-size Titan pickup. Nissan made the 2008 Pathfinder a full 9.1 inches off the ground, and even offers an off-road trip package. If off-roading is your thing, the 2008 Pathfinder delivers.

The Nissan Pathfinder is also quite comfortable on city streets, as well. The body of the 2008 Pathfinder is much larger than the previous Pathfinder models, and it has seve seats as standard. Three rows of seats mean that the Pathfinder can take you and your crew around town in comforta and style.

The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder includes a variety of cutting edge features. It has Bluetooth connectivity, and even includes a navigation system with a hard drive that you can use to store MP3 music files. The V8 engine gives the Pathfinder the power it needs to haul many types of loads.

There are several trim levels to the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, as well as a variety of options packages. Regardless of what you’re looking for in a mid sized SUV, the Nissan Pathfinder has what you want.

Soaring fuel prices are on everyone’s minds these days. May has brought a series of record high fuel prices, and the trend shows no real signs of abating. Although your Nissan truck gets decent gas mileage, that is small comfort when it comes to the reality of paying to fill up your tank. Therefore, today we will bring you some creative ways to maximize your fuel efficiency and slash your costs at the pump.

1.	Check your tire pressure – Underinflated tires cause your truck to lose as much as six percent fuel efficiency for every pound of underinflation. Be careful not to overinflate, however, which can be dangerous.

2.	Keep your speed steady – “Jackrabbiting,” or going back and forth between hard acceleration and hard braking, will drain your gas tank at an alarming rate. Use your cruise control to maintain a steady speed on highways, and keep passing to a minimum.

3.	Brake gently – As above, hard braking is not only bad for your brakes, it is also bad for your fuel economy. Slow gently when approaching a red light or traffic jam.

4.	Combine trips – Many of us are guilty of multiple trips in a single day, particularly for errands. Before you leave the house, take a moment to go through a list of your upcoming errands. Combine them into a single trip, and try to plot a route that minimizes backtracking.

5.	Unload your truck – Your Nissan truck provides excellent storage. If you leave heavy items in the truck when they aren’t needed, however, you may be seriously undermining your fuel economy. Your truck takes significantly more gas when it is heavily loaded.

Above are just a few easy to implement ways to save significantly on fuel costs for your truck. If you would like to learn more about Nissan trucks , we invite you to visit our convenient local dealership.

Gas prices are on everyone’s minds these days. From local corner stores to British newspapers, it seems that everyone is discussing the historic May increase in American fuel prices. Hybrid vehicles seem like a quick and easy answer. After all, these vehicles are clean and environmentally friendly, and can save up to 40% at the gas pump.

However, if you have recently bought your Nissan truck, this might not be the best time to trade it in for a hybrid. The first three years of any vehicle’s lifespan are the most expensive due to rapid depreciation during this time. Your truck lost value immediately when you drove it off the lot, and it will continue to lose value over the first three years at a relatively hefty rate.

On top of this, if you financed your truck, most of your earlier monthly payment goes toward interest. This means that your debt load will not drop as quickly at the beginning of your loan term as it does at the end.

Therefore, trading in your Nissan truck could prove to be quite expensive. At best, you will not make much money on your trade-in. At worst, you could end up in a negative equity situation, in which you owe more than the trade in value.

Hybrid vehicles are typically more expensive than their gas-powered counterparts. This means that it will take even longer to realize any actual savings from their superior gas mileage.

Experts now recommend that owners of late-model trucks avoid trading in at this time. Over the next few years, the markets will likely settle down. Combined with the lesser depreciation that you will face, and the lower existing loan you will have, trading in your truck in a few years may be a much better option.

Tomorrow we will bring you some tips on gaining maximum fuel economy in your Nissan truck .

Many of today’s SUVs have more in common with luxury cars than with their sturdy truck roots. After all, SUVs have become much more popular with suburban moms and wealthy city dwellers than with rural residents who might have reason to regularly travel off-road. However, the Nissan Armada is one of the few that manages to make a truly successful crossover.

Built on a truck chassis but loaded with luxury features, the Armada is equally home on the streets of Manhattan and in truly rugged off-road terrain. The Armada was introduced in 2004, and the 2008 redesign tweaked a number of features. Here is what Auto 123’s reviewer had to say.

Exterior
The vehicle’s hulking body is imposing, but the style and design elements keep it visually interesting. The 2008 changes are relatively minor, focusing primarily on the grille and front and rear fascias.

Under the Hood
The engine is a powerful 5.6 liter, 317 horsepower V8 that provides 385 pound feet of torque. The vehicle is sharply responsive, well controlled by a five speed automatic transmission with a gated shifter. The reviewer found this setup to be particularly easy to control. As is true with any SUV, this power does require a relatively high consumption of fuel.

Off Road Capability
It is the Armada’s off road capacity that truly sets it apart. A dashboard switch allows easy selection between 2WD, 4WD and low-range 4WD. The vehicle provides an Active Brake Limited Slip function in 4WD mode that helps detect slipping wheels and provide a better grip. Nissan also provides a system known as Vehicle Dynamic Control, which assists in both climbing and descent. Independent front and rear suspensions help to smooth out the ride dramatically.

The Bottom Line
The 2008 Nissan Armada manages to do what many SUVs cannot – provide equal measures of luxury and capability for a true go-anywhere vehicle. If you would like to learn more about the functionality of the Armada or any other Nissan truck, we invite you to visit our friendly Philadelphia area Nissan dealers.

On Camper Shells and Bed Covers

Many Nissan truck owners choose to cover the truck bed in some way. A bed top can create secure storage, making it difficult or impossible for thieves to access the truck bed. It can also help to improve fuel efficiency by making your truck more aerodynamic. Finally, a sleek bed cover can be aesthetically pleasing, creating clean lines. Although the possibilities seem endless, bed covers can be divided into two basic types.

Camper Shells
A camper shell is a hard case that encloses the truck’s bed. It may be as tall as the truck’s cab, greatly increasing the available storage space. Camper shells may be made of fiberglass and customized to your particular truck’s make, model and year. These shells are painted to match your truck’s color and provide a contoured, exact fit.

The other option in camper shells is aluminum. These are significantly less expensive than fiberglass shells, but are available only in standard height, which may be taller or shorter than your truck’s cab. They are available in a range of standard colors.

A camper shell may be your best option if you plan to haul tall cargo and to leave the shell in place. They can be removed by two people, but are heavy and unwieldy.

Bed Covers
Unlike a camper shell, bed covers are designed to lie over the existing truck bed. Therefore, they do not provide vertical storage. They are a low-profile solution that will provide security and decrease drag, improving fuel economy.

Bed covers are also available in two basic styles. Hard covers are durable and will not blow off, providing the most protection. However, they are difficult to remove. Soft covers can be easily removed for the carrying of tall cargo, and some are strong enough to withstand up to a foot of snow.

There is no single best answer to the question of a bed cover for your Nissan truck. It is important to think through the ways in which you will use your truck to find the solution that works best for you.
