The new planned technology will be a car that reads minds. Yes, you read that right. In a few years you just may have a Nissan vehicle that can read your mind in certain maneuvers.

Brain Computer Interface (BCI) technology will help you execute certain maneuvers while driving. For instance, if you are going to change lanes and there is another car in your blind spot, the car can read your mind and the vehicle will not move over because it senses the lane change will be dangerous.

Another maneuver in which the BCI technology will help the driver is merging into traffic. Once again, the Nissan vehicle will read your mind and automatically adjust your speed to meet the merging traffic.

Nissan is at the forefront with this type of technology and is continually working on technology just like the BCI in an effort to make the roads safer for all drivers. Nissan is moving in a direction that other auto manufacturers will have to follow in order to keep up.

It is going to be interesting to see what Nissan has in store for their vehicles in the future.

For a truly innovative vehicle that is roomy enough to take the whole family around town in, and looks great too, take a look at the brand new 2012 Nissan Quest SL. There are differences between the trims and they can vary greatly between models. However, here are just some of what the latest Quest SL trim has to offer:

The SL trim

Starts at $34,500 MSRP

18” aluminum alloy wheels

Roof rack and side sill spoilers

One touch power liftgate

Quick Comfort Seat Heater with 8-way power driver’s seat

The Quest SL trim has the one touch power liftgate. This is a huge benefit for many people. If you are a smaller person, or have your hands full of kids, groceries etc., it can be extremely difficult to close the rear hatch. If all you have to do is press a button it can eliminate a world of hassle.

Of course, these are just some of the exciting features that Nissan provides its owners. You’ll want to see the new 2012 Nissan Quest SL in person and take it for a test drive to experience the comfort and luxury of this family vehicle. Some of the Standard features for all four trims include:

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

Traction Control System (TCS)

4-wheel Anti-Braking System (ABS)

Brake assist

3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine

Emissions – Tier 2, Bin 5

Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS)

In the front, there is an independent strut-type suspension

In the rear is a multi-link independent suspension

The continuous variable valve timing control system allows the vehicle independent control of the intake and exhaust valves in your engine. What this means is that the engine can then “decide”, based on driving conditions, which valve to use. This allows a higher degree of engine performance benefits. This ultimately saves on wear and tear on the engine while improving fuel economy and emission levels of the car.

One of the great things about buying a Nissan is the fact that every 2012 Nissan is backed by a 36-month/36,000-mile limited vehicle coverage. That’s not all; they include a 5-year/60,000-mile limited power-train coverage. With all these features and benefits it is well worth your time to go down to a dealership, check out a 2012 Nissan Quest SL yourself and take a look at their warranty and guarantees.

There is also an option to add Security+Plus®, which covers literally hundreds of components within the vehicle in case there is a problem or malfunction with it. You have the option of purchasing this extra coverage within the first three years you have the vehicle. There is also 24-hour road side assistance provided by this agreement. Anyway you look at it this is a vehicle to take a second glance at.

The competition is held annually for cars and trucks that have made good improvements and changes on their vehicles over the past year. The Nissan Quest was nominated for this award due to the advances in technology that Nissan put into the Quest SUV.

Quest fans will be pleased to know that their favorite vehicle was nominated. On top of that, they will enjoy all the latest innovations and safety features the mini-van has. Overall, there were 17 cars and 7 SUV and mini-van nominees in the truck category. The auto industry chose which vehicles made the best improvements. Those were then judged by more than 50 automotive journalists who were given the hard task of narrowing the list down to three finalists in each category. The winner will be announced in January during the North American International Auto Show, which will be held in Detroit.

The newest features on the Nissan Quest include an advanced air bag system with seat belt sensors; active head restraints that move to protect you during a rear end collision; vehicle dynamic control system that helps you during over or under steering; traction control system that senses wheel spin; push button intelligent key system; state-of-the-art navigation system; and a blind spot warning system, just to name a few. These technology advancements are part of why the Nissan Quest was nominated for the 2012 North American Truck of the Year. Even though the Nissan Quest did not make the final three, Nissan is very proud of this vehicle and knows that through careful testing the Nissan Quest has been improved and is very safe for the road.

Drive down to your nearest Nissan dealership to view the new Nissan Quest and see for yourself why it was nominated in the 2012 Truck division of the North American Car of the Year.

One thing that can trip up a lot of new car buyers is car terminology. But we aim to make that easy.

It’s not hard really. When you find yourself in the market for a new Nissan and you feel like it’s time to make your way down to the dealer to discuss the best deal, you don’t want to embarrass yourself. So take a little bit of time to brush up on your car terms. Classic Cars Nissan has put together a short primer to get you started.

HEV- Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Hybrid vehicles are starting to catch on. Vehicles like the Nissan Altima Hybrid will be very popular in years to come. Look for HEV to know when a vehicle is considered hybrid electric.

FWD – Stands for front wheel drive.

RWD – Rear wheel drive.

AWD – All wheel drive.

4WD – 4-wheel drive. The difference between 4-wheel drive and AWD is that you have to switch from FWD or RWD TO 4-wheel drive. AWD is always on.

MPG – Miles per gallon is a very important acronym you’ll need to learn. It will affect you every day of your life.

SOHC – Single overhead camshaft.

DOHC – Dual overhead camshaft. When you see DOHC as you do in the description of the 2011 Nissan Titan SL Crew Cab, then you know it’s got an extra standard for clean air passing through the engine.

Now that you know a few more car buying terms, how about going the extra step and learning a few more?

So have you put it on the schedule to winterize yours?

Your Nissan will run better all through winter if you schedule specific maintenance tasks before the cold weather hits. If you haven’t done it already, now is the time. Those specific maintenance tasks include:

Add antifreeze – This is one of the most essential tasks to successfully winterizing your Nissan. Get the 50/50 mix and your Nissan will run better all year long.

Flush the radiator – Another essential task is to completely drain the radiator and refill it with water and 50/50 mix.

Checks belts and hoses – All your belts and all your hoses. Leaky or cracked hoses can cause your fluids to run out. You don’t want to be stranded on the side of the road in the dead of winter because you didn’t check your hoses. Also, pay particular attention to your alternator belt.

Check the battery – That includes opening the caps and checking the fluid level in the cells. A weak battery will not perform well in cold weather.

Tires – Are the tread on your tires thick enough. If your tread is low and there is ice on the roads your Nissan won’t get enough traction.

Make sure you perform the proper maintenance on your Nissan all year long and particularly in winter.

If you’re familiar with the Nissan 370Z, then you know it’s a vehicle that was built on innovation. It’s classy, sporty, and full of zest. The 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe continues that wonderful tradition.

With an MSRP of $31,450, Nissan built incredible value into this vehicle.

It’s 6-speed manual transmission comes with an upshift indicator and the 3.7-liter V6 engine kicks out 332 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. What more could you ask for?

Here’s the innovative part:

Rides lower to the ground with incredible handling.

The world’s first SynchroRev Match manual transmission leading to smoother shifting.

A three-layer design for the driver cockpit.

Brake override technology

Technology features include the state-of-the-art Nissan navigation system, seamless iPod integration, Bluetooth hands-free wireless phone system with voice activation controls, touch-screen voice activation traffic control, NavWeather, an incredible sound system by Bose, a rearview camera monitor, and Nissan Intelligent Key with push button ignition.

For safety, the 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe also includes a grandiose airbag system with seatbelt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. Side-impact airbags move with the seats so they do a better job of protecting.

You can also get a drivetrain upgrade option with the 2012 Nissan 370Z Coupe that allows you to move up to a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and paddle shifters.

The fuel economy rating is 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway for the manual transmission and 19 mpg and 26 mpg, respectively, for the automatic. You really do get great value here.
